Let’s describe a hypothetical full mouth reconstruction.

‘Jim’ was a 67-year-old man with a mouthful of troubles. He had received extensive radiation for cancer several years earlier. The radiation therapy damaged soft tissues in his mouth. This led to gum recession which revealed the metal bases of two old crowns.
The exposed tooth roots had decayed. Three of his teeth had to be taken out. Four of his original teeth were broken. Jim also had bone recession at the extraction sites. Plus a couple old crowns that were broken.

Jim received implant placements for the missing teeth. We made new crowns to replace the broken ones. We executed soft tissue grafts to correct the gum recession. Two of his existing teeth were cracked but intact and decay-free. We repaired these teeth with porcelain veneers.
