Your Time Dental Urgent Care in Gibsonton can help both with your dental emergencies as well as with improving your smile.

Our office is proud to use some of the latest and most up-to-date technology available in the dental industry. It’s our goal to make your appointments as easy and comfortable as they can be.

One of the machines that helps us achieve this goal is the CEREC mill, which allows us to craft custom crowns and bridges right here in the office.

What Does CEREC Stand For?

CEREC stand for Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics. Our team uses CEREC technology to produce and place a crown in one same day dental procedure.

How Does My Dentist Fabricate a Crown With CEREC?

CEREC same day dental crowns use Computer Aided Design/ Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAD/CAM) technology and 3D imaging to create a crown that fits your tooth perfectly. A CEREC crown retains your natural bite and gumline contours.

Our team first takes a 3D image of your tooth with an intraoral scanner, which converts to a digital model with the CEREC CAD/CAM software. The digital model is conveyed to the milling machine.

The crown is milled from a ceramic block. We will pick a shade that matches your natural teeth exactly. Then we place the crown onto your damaged tooth.

What Are CEREC Crowns Made Of?

A durable ceramic material.

What Are The Benefits of CEREC Dental Crowns?

  • Restores tooth function in one dental appointment
  • A CEREC crown only requires one dental visit
  • Prevents potential problems with temporary crowns
  • Tooth prep for a CEREC crown maintains more of your existing tooth structure
  • CEREC may be more budget-friendly than a traditional crown
  • CEREC crowns fit better than traditional crowns

Will My Tooth Hurt?

Your crowned tooth may be sensitive for a couple of days after placement. Toothpaste made for sensitive teeth may relieve the sensitivity.

Avoid chewy or sticky foods during this period. Brush and floss your new crown as you (hopefully~> do with your remaining teeth.

A tooth with a crown is susceptible to decay near the gumline. Come into Your Time Dental Urgent Care twice a year for a dental cleaning and exam.
